How Time Flies

It seems like only yesterday we decided to start making music together again.

At the time I didn't think about what it would involve, what with me living in Seattle and Trevor three thousand miles away in Florida, just that it seemed like a great idea and something we had to do. It was only after a couple of facetime sessions that we realized it was going to be more complicated than we thought.

So after replicating the core elements of our home studios we started sending audio files to each other. Sometimes a rough idea recorded on a phone, a few lyrics and a melody, other times several guitar parts a vocal track and backing vocals. At the end of the day keeping everything sounding natural, spontaneous and real, like we were actually working together in the same room, ended up being one of the biggest challenges.

But with nothing much else to do for extended periods during the Covid years we had the luxury of taking our time, and I think that shows. To be able to revisit an arrangement or a mix after stepping away from it for a few weeks or even months was luxury.

About a year ago we started thinking about how to actually get the music out there. Gone were the talented folks at a label or PR company who do that for a living, this time it was up to us to figure it all out.

Needless to say it's been a long journey, almost three years pretty much to the day, but we've learned so much along the way, not just about producing music but also about each other.

It turns out that being able to trust one another and be inspired by one another, especially without actually being in the same room together in over thirty years, is at the core of everything.

So with that I want to thank you for being here and we appreciate your support.

See you soon,
